In short
Battens are structure over insulation; panelling is the visible finish. We fit after electrics and plumbing are tested, with fuse access preserved.
Before you start
- Do not panel before system tests.
- Mark electrical hatches and water valves.
- Pick material: lacquered ply, PVC, stretch fabric.
- Account for body curvature.
Battening
Battens over insulation create plane and air gap. Alexis fixes without excessive thermal bridges and leaves ducted routes for extra cable. Batten thickness eats final interior size. Curves use flexible or short segments. Order: walls, ceiling, niche details. Without level battens, panels wave in first heat.
Wall panels
Thin lacquered ply, laminate, or PVC by look and weight. Light tones are popular in Sant Julià de Ramis. Window and bulkhead trims are custom. Hidden screws or clips depending on future removal. Technical void behind kitchen and panel always reachable in under ten minutes.
Ceiling and trim
Stretch fabric saves headroom; rigid panels allow recessed lights. 12 V LEDs wired in earlier phase. Return grilles if ducted heating. Ceiling is where fine work shows—hatch and blind symmetry matter.
Belcampers sequence
Panelling follows floor, systems, and tests. Before or after furniture by zone. Progress photos by phase. We do not sell precut panel packs—the value is fit to your actual van, not generic L3 kit.
Common mistakes
- Panelling before wiring and breaking finish later.
- No hatch to electrical panel.
- Long rigid panel ignoring body curve.
