Before you start
- Separate structural materials (furniture, floor) from finishes.
- Ask about added weight—it affects fuel use and possible reforms.
- Avoid untreated timber or wrong foam in wet zones.
- Trust suppliers the workshop knows, not random online deals.
Plywood, aluminium, and composites
For furniture we use marine or phenolic plywood depending on moisture and load. Profiled aluminium suits light structures and brackets. We avoid MDF near sinks or entries—it swells with condensation. Alexis picks thicknesses that hold firm threads for homologable fixings. We do not sell sheet goods retail: material is in the fabrication quote because we cut and edge in-house.
Insulation and vapour barrier
We combine rock wool or glass fibre with reflective layers by zone. Spray foam is subcontracted when the project needs it; it is not the only answer. A badly placed vapour barrier causes mould, so material comes with process—not just a bought roll. Total thickness affects window reveals and floor profiles; we calculate before ordering windows.
Linings and floors
Technical vinyl, linoleum, or light timber goes on a level rigid base. We choose textures that survive mud and low-water cleaning. Ceilings may be stretch fabric or flexible panels depending on headroom. White finishes look spacious, but in the workshop we use tones that forgive real use. Physical samples in Sant Julià de Ramis help before ordering full rolls.
Fixings, sealants, and chemistry
Sikaflex, butyl tapes, and anti-vibration fasteners are not minor details—they stop roof hatch leaks and road rattles. We use sealants compatible with OEM paint and aluminium. Clients do not need boxes of generic screws; approved consumables are in the job quote. If you supply accessories, we check they do not force incompatible materials together.

- Buying cheap insulation with no vapour barrier plan.
- Using non-marine DIY timber for load-bearing furniture.
- Choosing heavy home flooring instead of vehicle-grade product.

We are not a DIY store. Materials are in the labour quote because we cut and install them.
